Audials One & Audials Tunebite: The course of action for files that refuse to play on all devices

When music gives your media player heartburn, it’s time for Audials

Today's Internet is bursting at the seams with online music services that allow you to download music. Unfortunately, not all media players support the music files you get from these services. Audials is the way to nip this problem in the bud.

Convert music from online services and streaming services into MP3s

With just a single click, Audials searches your PC and converts every music file it finds into an format of your choice, e. g. MP3. Even files which cannot be converted by other tools, like some WMA files, are queued for multi-speed playback and recorded as they play to create MP3 copies. Audials' specially optimized digital soundcard drivers ensure nothing less than superior digital recording quality. The copies are then saved in MP3 or any other desired format.

Record music from music services that don’t support downloading!

Not all music services allow you to download the music you want. Using audio streaming, a growing number of providers have begun putting an end to the whole notion of “music-to-go.” You may get tons of musical listening pleasure — but it’s confined to playback on your PC.

Audials is the smart way to buck this trend, allowing you to enjoy music from these services not only in your browser or the service's streaming software, but also on any of your portable devices or in your favorite media player software. Audials makes it possible by recording all of the music your browser or any streaming application plays. Highly developed, fingerprint-based music recognition technology ensures that each individual music title is accurately detected, precisely cut, correctly named and saved as a perfectly tagged MP3. Different rights causes confusions by consumers

Today some types of Media are available for free and without an copy protection other types of Media are copy protected and part of Music subscription services or Video-on-demand platforms. In some countries it is legal to re-record copy protected Music, Videos, Audiobooks or Movies from Online streaming or DVD in other countries it isn´t. So it is for a customer today difficult to know when will it be allowed to re-record, rip, copy and convert the streamed or bought media for the usage with the own PC, Smartphone, Tablet or other devices. In most cases of using Audials software it will be always the best to share the Media not with others. If record Media with Audials you should do this only for own usage.

There are two types of copy protection, which are implemented by Digital Rights Management (DRM):

1) Protection of content transmission

Contents are transmitted in encrypted form through e.g. internet. Then they are decrypted in the web browser or playback software, and outputted unprotected through the graphics card to the screen. This kind of protection is used for nearly all video-on-demand-services as well as for DVDs. Such contents can technically be recored by “Audials screen recording” without “cracking” any copy protection. However, whether a user is permitted to do so depends on the terms of the content service.

2) Protection of content display

Contents are transmitted in encrypted form through e.g. internet. They are also passed to the display by the playback software in encrypted form, too. (This is only possible with compatible display types, like certain HDMI devices). The display will decrypt the data immediately before showing them without allowing the computer to access them. This kind of protection is in use only for BlueRay discs nowadays. Such contents cannot be recorded with Audials, as Audials does not crack any copy protection.
