Beyoncé was born in 1981 in Houston, Texas. Even as a child her talent was apparent. During school she was interested in singing, dancing and participated in the church or school choir. As part of a talent show, Beyoncé sang the song Imagine by John Lennon and emerged as the winner. In 1990, the six-piece dance and vocal group Girls Tyme was formed with LaTavia Robertson, Kelly Rowland and the school friends Keke Wyatt and Tamar Davis. Two members later left the group and LeToya Luckett joined. The group was managed by Beyoncé's father Matthew and gained local notoriety through appearances in front of a small audience.

When a record deal with Elektra Records was signed, the band changed the name to Destiny's Child. In 1996, a contract with the major label Columbia Records was signed. Shortly after the first song Killing Time was published, which appeared on the soundtrack album of the film Men in Black. The first single No, No, No went straight to No. 1 in the US Billboard charts. The second album was sold more than eight million times. After further successes and a world tour, Destiny's Child split and the members concentrated on their solo careers.

Beyoncé wrote on her debut album Dangerously in Love that appeared in the summer of 2003. It reached # 1 in the US Billboard 200 album charts and was sold over eleven million times. After a three years break, the members of Destiny's Child - Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams - came together again to jointly record Destiny Fulfilled. However, this is the last album of the band. In 2004 group dissolved definitively.

By musically processing the story of a betrayed woman, rumors emerged that Beyoncé talks about her marriage to rapper Jay Z. On this album, Beyoncé is more infuriated, political and socio-critical than on previous albums. The music styles range from Hip-Hop and R&B to Trap, Gospel and Country-Soul.
