Videos can only be played within the app and are usually available offline for a limited time.

Same here: Videos are only playable in the app and for a limited offline period.
Once downloaded, the video remains tied to the Amazon app. You can’t transfer it to other devices or play it in other apps.
If a movie or series is removed from Amazon, your download disappears too — even purchased or rented content vanishes if Amazon removes it from their library.
Canceling your Amazon Prime subscription comes with a harsh consequence: all your downloads are gone. Your entire library is irretrievably lost.
Not all titles are available for download. There are also restrictions on the number of devices you can use for downloads.

Step 6: When the movie ends, stop the recording. Save the file (usually MP4 or MKV) in the desired folder.
Screen recorders also have downsides that can make them inconvenient or time-consuming to use.
A screen recorder can only record in real time. While that may be acceptable for a two-hour movie, it becomes a problem for series. You may not want to watch while recording, but you can’t use your PC for other tasks during the recording either.
A screen recorder doesn’t know when your video ends. If you don’t want to spend extra time cutting the video afterward, you’ll need to stop the recording manually at the right moment. This can be tiring, especially with series.
A screen recorder cannot detect or remove ads. If you want to avoid ads in your recording, you’ll have to cut them out manually.
As you can see, there are many limitations when it comes to saving Amazon Prime videos.
