      Error message "Overlapped I/O operation in progress" when installing Audials

      When installing Audials software, you receive the following error: "Overlapped I/O operation in progress."


      This problem is caused by the KB2918614 update from Microsoft, which was released on August 12, 2014.


      Workaround:
      Windows 8 :
      1. Access the Start screen, for example by pressing the Windows key.
      2. Type "Control Panel" and then click the Control Panel tile.
      3. Click Programs and Features, and then, click View installed updates.
      4. Select KB2918614 from the list and click Uninstall.
      5. Restart your computer and start the installation again.

      Windows 7 & Windows Vista:
      1. From the Start Menu, select Control Panel.
      2. In Control Panel, select Uninstall a program from the Programs section.
      3. Click View installed updates.
      4. Select KB2918614 from the list and click Uninstall.
      5. Restart your computer and start the installation again.
      NOTE: If removing this Windows update will not help, then there is something wrong with your currently used Windows account. Please try to create a new Windows account with Administrator privileges and then use this account to install Audials.
