You try to install Audials and an error message is displayed that one of the following .dll files is missing:
- msvcp140.dll
- vcruntime140.dll
- mfc140u.dll
- api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll
and others
The .dll file is one of the runtime components of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable software for Visual Studio. It is required to run C++ applications.

Step by Step: Installing the missing .dll file
- Open the settings of your Microsoft account, then Apps and Installed Apps.
- Search Microsoft Visual C++2015… in the list and select it.
- Open its three-dot menu and select Change.
- A new window is displayed, click Repair.
- Restart your PC and try again with Audials.
- If the issue still persists or the Change option is not available, uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 from the Control Panel.
- Restart your PC.
- Download the latest package for Microsoft Visual C++ (Visual Studio 2016, 2019, 2022 and 2025) and install it:
