How to Record HBO Max (Max) on a Windows 10 or 11 PC
Audials One is one of the best tools to record all your beloved movies and series that you stream on HBO Max.
1. Download, install, and start the HBO Max recorder
Download the Windows software “Audials One” and install it. It is free and a registration is not necessary. It´s easy to uninstall if not wanted. Start the Audials One Windows software and choose a video output format in the lower part of Audials One. Then switch to the “Video Streaming” section.
2. Play back the video in HBO Max
Click the “HBO Max“ tile in Audials One. Open max.com in your Chrome, Edge or Firefox browser and select the movie or episode that you want to record. The recording of the video stream will start directly when playing the video.
Make sure the video is played in original size so that the best possible quality can be achieved. Your progress of the HBO Max recording will be displayed in the control window.
3. Audials One will record Max and save it to your PC
When the recording of the video stream is complete the video will be transferred to the Audials playlist on the right side of your screen. The HBO Max streaming can be recorded and saved in the video file formats MP4, WMV, AVI, 3GP or others. The Audials Windows software will tag the file afterwards. You can now play the video with Audials or drag and drop it into another application or Windows explorer to export it.

How to Screen record HBO Max for Android & iOS
If you have a Samsung, LG, or OnePlus smartphone with Android 10, you will be able to record videos for free with the built-in screen recording tool. Just pull down the quick settings tile and tap the “Screen recorder” icon. You will be asked to allow the device recording from screen and then you can start. Do not forget to check in Settings -> Advanced whether all settings are correct.
If this does not work, there is a futher option for Android: Installing a screen recorder for Android, for example the free AZ Recorder or the XRecorder.
iOS 11 or a later version of it also allows you to record from screen for free with the built-in screen recorder. You will find the screen recording app by swiping up from the bottom of your iPhone screen.
iPhone, Android or Tablet: How to download HBO videos directly from the HBO Max app
HBO Max videos can be downloaded on Android and iOS with the HBO Max app. You just need to do the following steps:
- Install the HBO Max app on your device and log in.
- Check whether your device is connected to WiFi.
- Find the video that you want to download and tap the download icon.

Please note:
- The downloaded videos will expire after 30 days if you do not watch them. If you play them back, they will expire after 48 hours.
- It is not allowed to have more than 30 downloaded videos on your device.
- If a video is removed from HBO Max, you will not be able to watch it although you have previously downloaded it via the app.

Yes, if you have an HBO Max screen recorder software like Audials One, you will be able to screen record video streams from HBO Max.
There are many screen recorders on the Internet, for example EaseUS RecExperts. It is an HBO Max screen recorder that only requires that you preset the screen size and activate the system sound to record a video streaming. However, please note that here a video editor is not included. It has less convenience in use because you will need to stop each video manually. If you need subtitles in your video, you will have to switch them on in HBO Max. They will be shown in your video, but you will not be able to remove them.
If you use Audials, you just need to click the “Max” tile. It has the optimum settings to avoid black screens while recording.
