Why Recording from Sky Apps Is Not Supported
Audials currently does not support recording from the Sky Ticket app, Sky WOW, or the Sky Go app.
DRM Protection and Video Recording
Audials can record video streaming services as long as DRM protection specifically designed to prevent recording is not bypassed.
Most streaming providers do not use DRM systems that block recordings completely. In many cases, recording is technically possible for standard resolutions, while only some high-resolution formats such as 4K are protected against recording.
Sky Go Recording Protection
According to our current findings, Sky recently introduced additional recording protection into the latest version of its Windows software.
Unlike many other streaming providers, this protection appears to be active for all video resolutions, not only for 4K content.
In addition, Sky currently does not provide a browser-based streaming version without this recording protection.
Because of these DRM changes, Audials is currently unable to record content from Sky software applications.
Current Status of Sky Recording in Audials
We regret this decision by Sky. Until further notice, recording from Sky Ticket, Sky WOW, and Sky Go is unfortunately no longer possible in Audials.
