We live in a time where individualism stands above all other virtues in our society. Underneath the message behind many songs and movies, and morals and beliefs of people in social media and political campaigns lies the desire for autonomy.

Do we want to be autonomous from God by discrediting the authority of Scripture and allowing compromises? Tune in this Palm Sunday as Ptr. Daniel Yam looks into the topic of submission and obedience!

"Friend of God"
by Ptr. Daniel Yam
It is a great irony that we live in a time that is both more connected - and disconnected - than ever before. Smartphones, social media, and other technologies make it simple and convenient to connect with family, friends, and loved ones, even though they may be miles, cities, or even countries apart.
However, there’s also a lack of true intimacy. We may be acquainted and talk with hundreds or even thousands, and yet how many among them do we have true intimacy with? Are we missing out on what intimacy means? Does this dilemma also affect our intimacy with God?
Join us this Sunday as Ptr. Daniel Yam preaches about walking intimately with the Lord as a "Friend of God", as we continue with our 2022 theme of "Walk Closely, Live Wisely"!

Do you appreciate and enjoy looking at an artwork? For the Psalmist is a master painter who gives us a full image of our Christian life. He tells us that as believers, we are like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, whose leaves never whither, and continues to bear fruit and prospers.
What does it mean to be a tree "Firmly Planted" by streams of water? How should we be walking as followers of Jesus? How can we be a tree that grows and bears fruit? These are some of the questions that Ptr. Daniel Yam will help us find the answers to from God’s Word this Sunday, as we continue with our theme for 2022, "Walking Closely, Living Wisely"!

"Our Kids' Greatest Needs"
by Ptr. Donn Manalese
Traditionally, fathers play the role of the "good provider" for the family's needs - wake up early, go to work, and then come home with the bacon. If he does that, his job is (pretty much) done. Or is it? Is that all there is to fatherhood? Is fulfilling material needs all that dads are really meant to do?
Join us this Sunday as Ptr. Donn Manalese helps us find out what "Our Kids' Greatest Needs" really are, how dads (and moms too!) have that crucial role in providing them, and how they can successfully fulfill that role!

"Redeeming the Communal Role of the Church"
by Ptr. Daniel Yam
Many of us today are looking for our identity, and a lot of us look for it in the world. But the more we look for it in the world, the more lost we actually become. People raised by social media believe that they can be anything they want - millionaires, influencers, someone famous! - but the reality is, this isn't likely going to happen.
As Christians, there is always a temptation to believe in these empty promises, putting too much unneeded pressure and unrealistic expectations on ourselves. We are tempted to think that if we just have a bit of money, power, fame, beauty, respect, success, we would be truly happy.
Join us this Sunday as Ptr. Daniel Yam preaches on the necessity of "Redeeming the Communal Role of the Church" and enjoins each brother and sister in Christ to continue the rewarding fight of faith by building up one another and developing our identity in the Lord!

On the very first Easter, nobody was expecting a resurrection - not even Jesus' disciples and closest followers! Their fears, disappointments, and hopelessness led them to believe that Jesus' death on the cross and burial was the end of the story. It was only when they started experiencing the resurrection themselves that everything changed!
And the good news is, resurrection is not just a past historical event, but a present reality that is available to ANYONE who believes! How about you? "Are You Expecting a Resurrection?" in your life and in your present situation?

He came closer to the city, and when He saw it, He wept over it, saying, 'If you only knew today what is needed for peace! But now you cannot see it!'"
~Luke 19:37, 41-42 (GNT)
Can you imagine that scene on Palm Sunday 2000 years ago: throngs and multitude of people praising Jesus and shouting, "Hosanna!" at the top of their lungs? And yet a few days after, the same crowd would be shouting, "Crucify him!" and picking Barabbas the murderer to be freed over Him.

What is a Disciple? - Rev. Anthony Techico (1.10.21 NMEC Worship)
SUNDAY ONLINE WORSHIP
January 10, 2021 | 9 a.m.
"What is a Disciple?"
by Rev. Anthony Techico
"My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
~Galatians 2:20 (NLT)
Many Christians consider and call themselves a "disciple" of Christ simply because they believe in Him. But is that all there is to being a disciple? Can one be a true disciple if one still lives for himself and not for Jesus? Can one be genuinely called a follower of Christ if one's life still exhibits the old self and has not shown evidence of being modeled after Christ and motivated by God's love?
Come and listen this Sunday as Rev. Anthony Techico leads us on a careful study of the scriptures to bring clarity and a definitive Biblical answer to the question, "What is a Disciple?"

"Are You Sitting on Your 'But'?"
by Rev. Jason Co
"My dear friends, you always obeyed when I was with you. Now that I am away, you should obey even more. So work with fear and trembling to discover what it really means to be saved."
~Philippians 2:12 (CEV)
Can you become a Christian and not follow Jesus? Can you be called a Christ-follower without being a disciple? Today, the word "Christian" has lost its meaning as it is no longer descriptive of what it should be.
Who really is a Christian? Is he someone who just prayed the prayer of acceptance or is there something more? What are the common hindrances in becoming a true follower of Christ? Find out this Sunday as Rev. Jason Co introduces our new church theme for 2021!

by Rev. Eugene Hao
“I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
~John 8:12 (NLT)
Entering 2020, people had the excitement of the new decade. Many had visions of a bright year, filled with new beginnings and new opportunities. But instead, as the year closes and we look back, all we see are days filled with darkness and dread, in our family, future, and faith.
But as Rev. Eugene Hao will preach in the last Sunday of this year, Jesus is "The Light of the World" that came down to be with us and will always be with us! And those who follow Christ and have Him in their lives will always have a great Hope, a mighty Savior, an everlasting Light that no darkness can ever overcome!

~2 Corinthians 3:18 (GNT)
Why is God is so slow in transforming us? Why didn't He just make us instantly perfect the moment we believed in Jesus Christ? Why do we have to go through all these stages of transformation just like the life cycle of a butterfly? Will there ever come a day when we will be perfect and our transformation will be complete?

"The Love for God Compels Obedience”
by Rev. Anthony Techico
"But so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me."
~John 14:31 (NASB)
We've seen many examples of people do extraordinary things "in the name of love" - going to great lengths to do or get something for the one they love, even to the point of giving up their lives! In the same way, if our love for God is deep and genuine, it would be our priority to please Him by doing whatever it takes to know His will and obey His commandments.
Join us this Sunday as Rev. Anthony Techico preaches on Jesus' life and ministry, and how He served as the perfect model for us a love for God that produces obedience and commitment to His commandments - to the point of giving up His life! - all because "The Love for God Compels Obedience!"

by Rev. Eugene Hao
"But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
~Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
In these dark and troublesome days, as nations and people all over the world are beset by calamity and disease, and suffering seem to endlessly come in all manner and from all directions, we see once again see that the earthly things we usually depend on to "save" us - technology, medicine, leaders, and even wealth - have largely proved to be NOT dependable at all.
But praise be to God, because those who are in Christ are never without hope! As Rev. Eugene Hao reminds us this Sunday, even though the world might be turning upside down, we can put our absolute faith and confidence in "Jesus: Hope of the Nations" - the only One who has promised and has the power to be our strength, guide, refuge, and most importantly - our Saviour!

Many think that in sharing the gospel to those around us, we are already fulfilling God's commandment of "making disciples of all nations". But there are actually major differences between evangelism and missions, with the latter requiring so much more work, people, resources, and sacrifices - and thus, needing so much more of our prayers and support.
This Sunday, Rev. Eugene Hao preaches and enlightens us on what makes missions special and essential, and enjoins us to take part in the Lord's work towards "Transformed Missions: Reaching the Unreached Nations", so that the gospel of Jesus and His kingdom may advance to the ends of the earth!

by Ptr. Daniel Yam
"I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship."
~Romans 12:1 (ESV)
How is our service to the Lord? We are now in the last quarter of 2020, and while still amidst a community quarantine, this should not stop us in serving God. A key to a transformed ministry is found in Romans 12, which marks a new section - service. God's gift of salvation should lead us to action, in gratitude for His grace and mercy. After all, each one of us is saved (Romans 1-11) in order to serve (12-16).
Come and listen this Sunday as Ptr. Daniel Yam exhorts us to continue to be faithful and steadfast in the race that each of us are called to run, and in the ministries that God has given us the talents and purpose for, in order that we may see "Transformed Ministry: In Action" in our service to the Lord!

~1 John 4:4 (NLT)
As a church, we have overcome a lot of challenges together these past 20 years. But with this global pandemic and its restrictions, we are now facing some of the greatest tests in our history. How do we keep our faith in these uncertain times?
This Sunday, let us look at the lives of the early Christians and learn how they kept believing and persevered in their faith in spite of the sufferings, persecution and even martyrdom that they faced. “Respect and Be Respected”
by Rev. Eugene Hao
These days, respect for others seems to be in short supply. People are often rude, inconsiderate, and unkind in public places, social media, the workplace, and even within families. In this climate of disrespect, people only want to show respect AFTER being shown respect.
But the Bible says to treat others FIRST as we want them to treat us (Matt. 7:12), not the other way around. To follow Christ is to love others FIRST because He loved us FIRST (1 John 4:19).

Ask anyone if they'd like to be content in life and they would all say yes. But the mistake we often make is looking for contentment from outside of us - more money, greater fame, higher position - which never completely satisfies!
True contentment actually comes from within - from having Jesus in our hearts and assurance in our minds that Christ alone is enough. There is no need to worry about tomorrow if we have the One who holds not just tomorrow, but the whole of eternity.

Blessed are the Poor in Spirit - Rev. Anthony Techico (7.12.20 NMEC Worship)
LET US WORSHIP TOGETHER ONLINE!
July 12, 2020 | 9 a.m.
"Blessed are the Poor in Spirit"
by Rev. Anthony Techico
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
~Matthew 5:3 (NIV)
The late Billy Graham said, being poor in spirit is to "realize our own sin and our spiritual emptiness and poverty." We are, by nature, prideful of our morality. We think we are righteous, often refusing to admit our sins and sinfulness. But the Bible says, "ALL have sinned." (Rom. 3:23) And when we finally realize that we are sinners unable to save ourselves, we are then moved to repentance and turn to our only hope for forgiveness and redemption - Jesus Christ.
This Sunday, let us listen to Rev. Anthony Techico as he starts our series on The Beatitudes, and learn from him as he teaches and explains the importance of repentance and the rich, heavenly spiritual blessings that it brings, in his message, "Blessed are the Poor in Spirit!"

LET US WORSHIP TOGETHER ONLINE!
July 5, 2020 | 9:00am
"TRANSFORMED!"
by Rev. Jason Co
The Sermon on the Mount is one of the most famous and oft-quoted teachings of Jesus in the Bible. What does it have to say about the Kingdom of God and the expectations from its Kingdom citizens? What does the Kingdom of Heaven look like here on earth?
Is genuine life transformation possible on this side of heaven? Is the Sermon on the Mount still relevant today? Find out this Sunday as Rev. Jason Co shares from this passage that Jesus preached two thousand years ago, and shows us that God's word is still as true and powerful today to cause all those who believe in Him to be "Transformed!"

The Blessings of Psalm 46 - Rev. Eugene Hao (6.28.20 NMEC Message)

"The Blessings of Psalm 46"
by Rev. Eugene Hao
"God is our strong refuge; He is truly our helper in times of trouble."
~Psalm 46:1 (NET)
During this time of crisis, many have been "exposed" - not just people to illnesses, but the earthly things that we have placed our hope and trust on have also been exposed as unreliable and untrustworthy. The Bible says, "The world and its desires pass away" (1 Jn. 2:17), but those who call God their good Heavenly Father will have a Help and a Hope that will last forever.
Join us this Sunday as Rev. Eugene Hao challenges us to shift our gaze away from this earth and towards heaven, and place our trust and confidence on our strong and everlasting Refuge, as he leads us on a study of "The Blessings of Psalm 46"!

"Good, Good Father"
by Rev. Jason Co
"And if you hard-hearted, sinful men know how to give good gifts to your children, won’t your Father in heaven even more certainly give good gifts to those who ask Him for them?"
~Matthew 7:11 (TLB)
Let's admit it - Father's Day isn't as big as Mother's Day. But that doesn't mean dads are any less important or loving than moms. Perhaps it is because fathers often do their work behind the scenes, just like our Heavenly Father who also works unseen for the good of His children.
Let us remember and appreciate all the goodness, good works, and good gifts of our good, good fathers - both earthly and Heavenly - as Rev. Jason Co leads us in worship this Father's Day Sunday!

Let It Go - Rev. Julius Manzano (6.14.20 NMEC Message)
LET US WORSHIP TOGETHER ONLINE
June 14, 2020 | 9:00am
"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."
~Colossians 3:13 (NIV)
During stressful and difficult times, when tempers are short and people tend to be inconsiderate and insensitive, there surely have been times when we have been offended (or have offended someone) with thoughtless words or unkind deeds. And we find it hard to forgive, because of the notion that we are "setting free" the person who has done us wrong.
But as we will learn this Sunday, forgiveness is indeed "setting free" someone - OURSELVES! - from pain, bitterness, and sin. Join us and listen as Rev. Julius Manzano preaches on the importance and benefits of forgiveness, that whatever grievance we may have against anyone, we should "Let It Go" and forgive willingly and completely, as Christ did for all of us!

Should God Answer for This? - Rev. Jason Co (6.7.20 NMEC Message)
LET US WORSHIP TOGETHER ONLINE
June 7, 2020 | 9:00am
The question of suffering has always been with us since the fall of humanity to sin. And with the recent health and economic crisis brought about by the coronavirus pandemic, people are once again asking questions and demanding answers. Should God answer for all the pain, hurts, death, suffering and tragedy caused by the virus? What does the earliest book of the Bible have to say about this age-old issue?
Join us as Rev. Jason Co takes us through the story of Job and relates his suffering to ours as we find out the answer to the question on everyone's minds during this very difficult time - "Should God Answer for This?"

Do You Get Who Jesus Is? - Ptr. Dani Yam (5.31.20 NMEC Message)
LET US WORSHIP TOGETHER ONLINE
May 31, 2020 | 9:00am
"[Jesus] got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, 'Silence! Be still!' The wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And they were terrified and asked one another, 'Who then is this? Even the wind and the sea obey Him!'"
~Mark 4:39,41 (HCSB)
Mark weaves his Gospel to show Jesus as the Son of God. In the early chapters, Mark shows Jesus' miracles and wisdom, and the crowds and his disciples followed Him. But later on, the crowds eventually left him. Did they miss out on who Jesus is? What did Jesus reveal so that we ourselves will not miss out on who He is?
Come and listen this Sunday, as Ptr. Daniel Yam challenges us with the question, "Do You Get Who Jesus Is?" and leads us on a study of the book of Mark to help us really get - and get to KNOW - the Saviour whom we put our faith and hope on during the darkest storms in our lives!

The Blessing of Righteousness - Rev. Anthony Techico (05.17.20 NMEC Message)
LET US WORSHIP TOGETHER ONLINE
May 17, 2020 | 9:00am
"How blessed are those who are hungry and thirsty for righteousness, because it is they who will be satisfied!"
~Matthew 5:6 (ISV)
In this day and age when everything is turning upside down - when wrong is becoming right and vice is becoming virtue - it is increasingly difficult to do the right thing and so easy to just go along with worldliness, especially when "everyone is doing it."
But as Mark Twain said, it is "never wrong to do the right thing." And for believers, the Bible lists out promises of blessings to those who live out righteousness. This Sunday, let us listen and learn from Rev. Anthony Techico as he encourages and challenges us to desire and strive to be righteous, so that we may experience "The Blessing of Righteousness"!

No doubt, everyone's Mother's Day plans got ruined this year because of the health crisis, just to give one example. How do we respond to life's interruptions? How SHOULD we respond? "Honor God by accepting each other, as Christ has accepted you."
~Romans 15:7 (CEV)
There have been many victims during this pandemic, humans and otherwise. And one of them, unfortunately, has been our most basic, fundamental nature and need as social beings - our ability to socialize. For our health's sake, we are discouraged (and even disallowed) to come together in person to share a meal, celebrate special occasions, have Bible study, or attend service, among others. "Distancia, amigo!" is the prevailing norm these days.
Will social distancing indeed become the "new normal"? What does the Bible have to say about social distancing? And how should we, as followers of Christ, relate and respond to this? Listen and learn from Rev. Jason Co this Sunday as he guides and helps us find the answer to the question, "Social Distancing: Yes or No?"

~Psalm 62:5 (GNT)
If there's one thing this crisis has made clear, it's that the earthly things we always usually on to "save" us - technology, medicine, leaders, and even wealth - have largely proved to be NOT dependable at all.
But as believers, we must not forget that though we are in crisis, we are also IN Christ, who gives us strength to overcome any challenge we face. And Christians are never alone in our struggles - Christ is IN the crisis with us also, as our comfort, guide, and refuge from the storm around us.

"For we are God's masterpiece, created in the Messiah Jesus to perform good actions that God prepared long ago to be our way of life."
~Ephesians 2:10 (ISV)
During difficult times such as this, when needs are many but provisions are few, it is easy to adopt an "every man for himself" mentality - becoming selfish, uncharitable, even to the point of greediness and hoarding essential supplies (like toilet paper!) or engaging in profiteering.
But it is precisely during times like this that Christ-followers can - and should - make a difference and be a beacon of light when darkness is everywhere. And as we listen to Rev. Anthony Techico's message on Sunday, may we all, through Christ our vine who strengthens and empowers us, produce "The Fruit of Goodness" and branch out to demonstrate God's love and grace to those around us!

Or perhaps the bad news is not COVID-related, but quite dispiriting nonetheless - regarding our relationships, work, finances, or maybe our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. "O LORD, save us, we pray. We beseech You, O LORD, cause us to prosper!"
~Psalm 118:25 (Berean Study Bible)
"HOSANNA! HOSANNA!" This is what we often proclaim when we praise and worship God for His goodness and love. But many do not know that "HOSANNA!" had a different usage in the Old Testament. It is found only in one place, Psalm 118:25, where it means, "Lord, save us!" It was used as a cry to God for help.
But over the years, the meaning of "Hosanna!" changed. From, "Lord, save us!" gradually it came to mean, "Salvation! Salvation has come!" Because Salvation did come - Jesus Christ came 2000 years ago to bring salvation to all of us so that we will be free from the bondage of sin and hell.
This Sunday, listen and be enlightened as Rev. Jason Co helps us understand the rich and complete meaning

The Lord is My Help - Ptr. Collen Lo (03.22.20 NMEC Sunday Message)

When the days are dark and troubles seem to come from all directions, the Lord promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us. And He has proven Himself, time and again in the scriptures, to be the faithful refuge and saviour of His people. As He has been our hope and our help in ages past, He is and will still be so at the present and the future.

Certainty in Times of Uncertainty - Rev. Julius Manzano (03.15.20 NMEC Sunday Message)
The world is an uncertain place, and we live in uncertain times. With so many problems coming up and so many things going wrong, is it possible - or even conceivable - that we can have peace in this world?
The Bible promises that those who are in Christ "will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand." (Phil. 4:7) And we can be certain of this only because of the certainty of God and who He is - an almighty, all-knowing, and loving Heavenly Father who is our rock of REFUGE, RIVER of hope, and haven of REST.
Listen and be comforted as Rev. Julius Manzano Lim shows us how we can have "Certainty in Times of Uncertainty" and experience godly peace by putting our faith in the faithful God, the only One whom we can be certain of at all times and in all situations!
