Open Day! An important event for all clubs! In The Club, there are many times where you are called up to be the host, or Toastmaster of the meeting. This week, I talk all about how to be a good host! We are back from the mid-autumn festival vacation! This week, I will be talking about an important program in The Club, Speechcraft! It's a multi-week program hosted by The Club as a way to promote our club to outside guests and new members basic public speaking skills! I go through the orthodox way that Speechcraft is conducted, some lessons learnt from how we conduct them and lastly, I look at how some other student clubs conduct them. This week I discuss a phenomena in The Club where sometimes evaluators "fail" a speaker and ask them to repeat a speech. (which I disagree with!) I go through the reasoning why it is a pretty bad practice and the possible reasons why people do it. Consider this an extension to the "Letter for Evaluation".
