Marlon Roudette / Mattafix: January 05, 1983

Marlon Roudette is a British electro and R’n’B singer. Initially, he was a member of the band Mattafix, whose song “Big City Life” was very popular in 2005. It is important to notice that Roudette was especially successful with his music in Germany, Austria and Switzerland – both as a band member and as a the later solo artist. Although Mattafix won several awards, the public forgot the band gradually.

In 2011, Roudette decided to restart his career as a solo artist. He composed the song “New Age” with Guy Chambers for “Matter Fixed”, his first album. In “Matter Fixed”, Roudette tries to express his dark emotions caused by his failed relationship with his girlfriend. The song “New Age” was listed for 34 weeks in the German charts. “Anti-Hero”, another song from the album, was an equal success and it ranked first in the charts. It happened again in 2014 that a song by Marlon Roudette ranked first: It was “When the Beat Drops Out” from the album “Electric Soul”.

Unfortunately, the last songs by this artist did not gain such a recognition. But they will in the future perhaps?

Calvin Harris: January 17, 1984

Adam Richard Wiles, also known as Calvin Harris, is a British singer, DJ, lyrics author and music producer, especially of Electronic Dance Music. After he had started to compose songs and to publish them on MySpace, he captured the interest of the music industry and signed a music contract.

In 2007, his song “Acceptable in the 80’s” became a British chart hit for 27 weeks. The song became popular in Germany, too. The single “The Girls” earned him the third rank in the British charts.
