The band has revealed that "Paris" does not refer directly to the city, but to state of mind, in which life seems easy. It is a song about the longing for a reality that is not real; A fantasy of daydreams and nostalgia. The song is about escaping the emptiness of reality and imagining being at a different place with someone else. Moreover, in an interview it was said that Paris has been written from the perspective of a drug-addicted friend.

Paris is presented as a metaphor for a perfect place. The song tells the story of a young couple who landed in Paris to get away from their parents. They have a firm bond with each other, which becomes clear in the lines "If we go down, then we go down together". The words "We'll get away with everything" or "Let's show them we are better" also point to a very naive perception of the persons discussed and a distorted interpretation of reality. The band points to the emptiness and insanity of people of their age class. The young people, on whom the song relates, have difficulties to become independent and to deal with the unpleasant aspects of life.
