The singer and actress Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone, also known as Madonna, was born in Bay City, Michigan. Her Catholic mother was very religious and Madonna had to pray every day, that later influenced many of her songs. When the girl was five years old, her mother died of breast cancer.

Madonna also went to Paris to work there as a showgirl. There she noticed that singing and performing was the thing she would like to do. After returning to the US, she became a member of several bands, but in 1981, she began a solo career, and her first song “Everybody” became the No. 1 on the dance chart one year later. In 1983, the album “Madonna” with hit singles like “Borderline”, ,,Lucky Star” and ,,Holiday” was released, and in 1984, the album “Like a Virgin”. It ranked No. 1 on the Billboard chart.

Although the religious symbols in her works are perceived as shocking, Madonna is one the most successful artists. The last album published by her is ,,Madame X" (2019).
