How to capture video clips and music videos from MTV™ with Audials Moviebox

MTV™ uses a unique process that protects your videos from being downloaded directly with your browser or other such program. But Audials lets you circumvent the problem and obtain the video easily. To this end, Audials is able use screen recordings.

The process is simple: Audials records whatever is currently visible on your computer screen and simultaneously records the audio track from the sound card. For all intents and purposes, it is as if you filmed the recording with a video camera.

Start Audials.
Switch to the “Save Video” view located in the “Streaming” section.
Select the profile with the desired file format from “Convert”.
Click the “Screen Recording” button located in the upper third of your screen. A window containing a quick guide will pop up next.
Click “Auto” to select the recording mode.
Open your browser.
Go to MTV.com and select the video you want to record. Pause the video at the point you want the recording to begin.
Click “Start” in the “Screen capture wizard”.
Play the video in your browser.
*Audials detects the video window automatically and the recording starts immediately.
Wait until the video has finished playing; do not use your computer while the recording is taking place, otherwise the video quality will be compromised.
After the recording is complete, select the video file from the list in the "Save Video" view and click the "Save" button. The video will now be transferred to the Audials player on the right side of your screen.
You can now play the video with Audials or drag and drop it into another application or Windows Explorer to export it.

*If the screen recording fails to automatically detect the area to record, you can try clicking for several times on the browser or choose the “Manual” mode instead. This way, you can define the recording area yourself.
